This is a sermon I delivered on Luke 11.1-13 on the Lord's Prayer. Many struggle to hear God's voice. Part of the problem is that many Christians perceive of prayer solely in terms of our talking to God. This message looks at the Lord's prayer and talks about prayer and listening.

This is a sermon I delivered on Luke 10 and Mary and Martha. (Note there is a short section of sound difficulties near the beginning) I address the issue of women in the Church. This might be one of the more important sermons I have presented. I argue that we must look at the role of women in the Church from a kingdom perspective. What is the role of women in the new creation? If we know the answer to this, and we believe that the new creation has already begun, then what does that mean for the role of women in the church today? For years I held a very conservative/traditional view. But my studies of Scripture and my own experiences have shown me something different.

This is a sermon I delivered on Mark 6 and 8). Jesus feeds the multitudes twice. Why did He do it twice? And why did He initially tell His disciples "you give them something to eat?" Did He really expect them to feed 5,000? And why did they pick up 12 and 7 baskets of leftovers? Are the numbers significant? The passages are full of interesting questions that lead to a dynamic conclusion. A conclusion that is quite meaningful for us today as well!
