Monday Feb 06, 2023
Monday Feb 06, 2023
What may be one of the most significant chapters in the Bible, Rob and Vinnie discuss 1 Cor 15 and the resurrection. They address a number of questions: including, the significance of the resurrection; why it is that without the resurrection our belief is in vain; why are we suffering if there is no resurrection; and what is the nature of our resurrection body?
They also address what Paul might mean when he refers to "baptism for the dead." And what about those who appeal to this chapter to support the rapture?
And, finally, why the resurrection is the foundation of Christian hope!

Monday Dec 12, 2022
Monday Dec 12, 2022
In this episode, Rob and Vinnie discuss 1 Cor 11:2-16. Does Paul teach that the man is the head of the women, or is this a misreading of 1 Corinthians? Are women supposed to have a head covering? Or is that something Paul's opponents in Corinth were arguing and Paul then responds to them? Rob and Vinnie take on Complementarianism v Egalitarianism.

1 Corinthians: Jesus is Lord: idoltary and the Church (1 Cor 8-10)
Monday Dec 05, 2022
Monday Dec 05, 2022
In this episode, Rob and Vinnie continue their overview of 1 Corinthians by looking at 1 Cor 8-10. In this passage, Paul responds to some in Corinth that were claiming that since there is only one God and since other gods do not exist, it is acceptable for Christians to attend pagan banquets which we in honor of pagan gods. Paul responds by noting that the meat which was sold in the marketplace may be acceptable to buy and eat--unless it causes others to stumble--but attending pagan banquets in honor of a deity is not acceptable. Even if they have these rights, then should not use those rights because it will cause others to stumble.
This raises the question of Christian love and what it looks like today. we willing to sacrifice our "rights" for the sake of others?
Do we "run the race" so as to win the prize?
